Thinking of ditching the Mirage. Other options, or, maybe some tech advice?

So, a Mirage with AC costs 50% more than one without, and these cars are NOT worth $15000 or their equivalent used prices.

Dealer wants my right leg to install AC.

Car cannot be driven in winter without AC.

Is there a simple option I'm missing here? I cant keep squeegeeing the ****ing windshield while driving...

I never use AC in the winter, but it usually doesn't get super cold around here. I just make sure the controls are set to "vent" and not "recirculate", put all the airflow onto the windshield and/or windshield-floor, then crack each of the windows (I have the factory vent shades).

I never have the windows fog up and the car stays pretty comfortable inside.

Yeah, I have to squeegee em, max air max heat on windshield, and with heaps of snow on the floor and 2 people and possibly some pets in the car, it fogs like crazy.

Windshield floor just instantly fogs up all the glass.

You need to put cold air on the windshield.

    That's not how thermodynamics works.

I am thinking now if I squeegee em off then blow cold air, squeegee again one more time as it cools, I may be able to make it work.

Ugh, I'll keep toying with it.

It does? What's going on up there?!?

Try to keep the interior as dry as you can. Use something like WeatherTech floor liners so you can dump the melted snow off of them.

Spend $3 on some Rain-X Anti-Fog. It may not eliminate your fogged up windows, but it should help reduce the severity.

We are running rain x at the moment. It helps a bit, but not a lot when its 30 below. There is a fine line between function and discomfort.
