    Mirage vs. Tesla: carbon footprint

    I thought of this forum when I recently stumbled on the image below on the web. Depending on how electricity is generated, a Mirage may have a smaller carbon footprint than a Tesla!

    Very interesting!

    I think my only beef with the chart is that I would have to imagine the average car lasts for more than 270km (168k miles). That doesn't change the outcome of the Mirage being a better than the alternatives, but it would be more realistic IMO.

    I also wonder how the Mirage compares to other like sized cars like the versa, yaris, etc.

    In some places, yes. But this chart very specifically states "average lifecycle for car in US midwest". Rust likely kills many cars long before mileage does in that part of the country, right?

    Yeah if you dont take the time to care for your car that can be true
