3 more warranty long blocks this week.

    2017, 110,000km.
    2018!! 39,000km.
    And a 2014, 129,000km.

Yeehaw! All vehicles are in cold climate, many short trips in their life spans, none kept in heated garages or used block heaters.

What's wrong with the engines that they need to be replaced?

Fuel wash cold starts leads to piston slap. Most of the older ones are due to the fuel trim recall being neglected. No idea what happened with the 2018. Doesnt have a service history here, that one might get declined. Oil looks pretty bad.

Hmmm. Mine had the recalls done but I have no service records, I assume I'm sol as far as that one goes. I'd gladly take a non knocking engine but don't want to pay them an hours worth of labour to drive the car for 5 mins only to be told they're not gonna cover it.

Oh yeah, my 2015 had the engine replaced because of that fuel trim thing.

Hmmmm.....wonder why the newer cars needed motors replaced? They were made after the fuel trim was corrected. Wondering if the fuel trim recall really does prevent the piston slap, or excessive wear?

Good point. Seems there's more to these stories.
