Spark plug temps? Copper vs all others?

Just wondered if anyone has done any comparisons of copper vs "others" in this engine?
Anyone happen to know if the temp matters?

I usually try to run cooler plugs in my car and wondered how the 3 cylinder handles temp ranges?

Nope, you don't need to change the plugs in these cars for 100k miles(according to the manual, even then they still work fine) so why take out good long lasting iridium plugs and throw in short life copper. Seems a waste of time and money to me. It's not gonna go faster or be cheaper on fuel by changing spark plugs.

I think someone on this forum tried some expensive plugs that claimed more power and fuel economy, they were garbage and didn't last long if I recall correctly.
Snake oil usually doesn't work as advertised.

Iridium plugs are more expensive, but they will go 100,000 miles without issue. Some have used these plugs for 200,000 mile without issues. Some Mirage owner's have changed them @ 100,000 miles & they claim they still looked good.

These are a couple quotes below that sort of points to the value of Iridium plugs. If you had an engine that was hard to get at the plugs, you would want to use these for sure.

"Since platinum is harder than nickel alloy, it holds its sharp edge for as long as 100,000 miles. ... If your owner's manual recommends platinum spark plugs, don't downgrade to copper spark plugs to save money. However, you can upgrade to either double platinum spark plugs or iridium spark plugs.

Iridium is said to be six times harder and eight times stronger than platinum with a 700° higher melting point. Iridium spark plugs have extremely fine electrodes while retaining excellent wear characteristics. Thanks to its strength, iridium spark plugs can last up to 25% longer than comparable platinum spark plugs."

Unless you are at 100,000 miles, I wouldn't worry about plugs.

I did the plugs on my Mirage at 95k and they didn't even need it. Not really worth overthinking which spark plugs to use, as you will likely only change them ONCE during the car's 200,000 mile lifespan. Cars nowadays have knock sensors and the like which really negate most of the need for tinkering with plug heat ranges. Just go with OEM (or similar) and enjoy the ride!
