We had cold temperatures last week. One friend claims he had -43F on one of the mornings. I can't say for sure it was as cold at my place, but it was surely in the -35F range. Since school was cancelled that morning, I didn't go anywhere until later in the day. My car had been sitting in the cold for two days (never got anywhere near 0F), & it was somewhere near -15F when I started my Mirage.
I used my 2 amp (low setting) battery charger for about 3 hours & new Kat's engine block heater for about 2 hours. The car fired up immediately! There was absolutely no hesitation. The real benefit, however, was felt inside the car. The inside of the car warmed up much faster than normal despite the cold temperatures.
The engine block heater cost me less than $30, & it's easy to install (no tools are necessary). You don't have to jack up the car. Just pop the hood, slip the heater in place until it clips, and zip tie your cord through the front grille. If interested, Top_Fuel's thread covers all you need to know on this topic in another thread.
There's been a few -30C nights here but I plug in my block heater any time it drops to -15C anyway.
My 2015 OE battery was a bit sluggish at -30C so I really should install the battery blanket that's been laying around for years....

Last week when it came by, it was -32˚F (-37˚C) at night. Luckly, I have my Mirage in the garage. Garage temp gauge said it was -23˚F. It didn't have a hard time starting. It was sluggish but it did start. Condensation building up during slow commute is pretty bad though but i did not have my climate control with the 'snowflake' on. I'm going to try that next time

We've missed the worst of the recent cold snap here in Southeastern Ontario - the lowest I've seen so far this winter was -26 C / -15 F. Practically beach weather!

Lucky, we got into the low 30's(C). North west of us in grand prairie they got down to -44C/-47F(without the windchill)
