Hear a bang. (Check out this damage!)

Got a call today, a Driver heard a bang and now the wheel sits funny and is hard to steer. I told them to park it and I'll go pick it up with a trailer. Something isn't right. Both front wheels are facing different directions, first thought is they hit a curb and bent a tie rod, strut or control arm. Get it back and on the hoist, low and behold........Starter shield is broken off, suspension cross-member is pushed back and straight up at least 4" rack and pinion is now bent, sway bar bent, entire exhaust is bent,hole in rear cat and the muffler, small dent in trailing axle. And the body might need to spend some time on a frame rack cause the bolts holding the crossmember don't go straight up anymore, they go in at an angle....

Dear God they really did a number on that car. I think that one is an insurance write off at that point...

Sorry for taking so long to get pics up. I'm still not sure what happened, there is a small streak of blue paint on the heat shield for the muffler. Wonder if maybe something could have fallen off a truck in the oncoming lane and landed right in front of the driver? They claim there was nothing on the road. If the car didn't hit anything then something sure hit that car pretty good! Very lucky it went right down the middle, missed both oil pans. Also lucky that it didn't punch a hole in the fuel tank.
