You do realize the person who started this sidetracked discussion left the forum in a huff, & I believe he took his posts with him?

You obviously know the state of the European Union, but do you know the pH level of your Mirage's coolant?

I checked my PH today it was 7.5 so time to finally change the coolant. Mine is a 2015 still with the factory coolant inside it. All i have added is a little water over the years. But the experiment seems to indicate the factory coolant will last 5 years as the bottom of the range. My car is a Garage Queen with only 21,300 miles on it.

Even though my car is a 2015 it was actually purchased in March of 2016 (brand new from Dealer). It also means my bumper-to-bumper warranty is about to expire in March and i will have less than 25k miles by then.

    UPDATE:
Factory fill was drained five years ago and refilled with Glysantin G30.
Reason was chemical reactions with coolant silicate. (Note: The manual mandates silicate-free coolant!)

Today, five years later, PH has remained unchanged at 8.5

As coolant ages, PH would eventually become lower and more acidic meaning it needs replacement.

When you replace it, please let us know how long it was in there and what PH it had before draining. Thanks.

I got some PH Strips on eBay sent from China it was less than $2 but also you can just buy them at Whole Foods Market for around $5. They are quite handy for many jobs and you can even test your own urine PH heh-heh

Also remember guys to let the engine cool down before you open the radiator cap or else you will end up like these guys:

I tell you, I never seen so much respect as the respect people give that radiator cap after it blows up in a geyser of steam. They jump back like a bomb just detonated! He Ha
