Hmmm, maybe the one I bought is a knock-off of a knockoff. I leave my elbow on the armrest as im shifting and perhaps the friction of my elbow caused all the peeling. Its unusual as my car only has 16,000 miles.

I will say, as an owner of one of the Mitsubishi consoles, they are worth EVERY penny.

I have the factory armrest, & I still feel like something is missing.

I'm 6'1" & drive with the front seat back 100% of the time. If I rest my right elbow on the center armrest, I can only touch the steering wheel with the tip of my fingers. The center armrest is ok to have when I am driving entirely left handed, & it surely doesn't get in the way of much. I wouldn't miss not having it.

I like the center armrest of my base level model 2011 Forester. It slides back & forth. If you want it out of the way, you can flip or just slide it backwards. Likewise, you can pull it forward to fit whoever is driving. It's totally adjustable.

I agree, the armrest is short. It does my much shorter sister no good, but it gives me something to lean on and some assistance getting out of the car as well. It also looks 100% like it came from the factory (Fabric is even a 100% match) and gives some limited storage and a valid cupholder!

You're welcome. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie. I've never been to Satin Dolls in Lodi, NJ. I understand it had been closed for awhile and then reopened this time last year. Your name looks familiar. Are you a member of an Elio forum?
