    (C) This section does not apply to the use of tire chains when there is snow or ice on the streets or highways where such chains are being used, or the immediate vicinity thereof.

    Studded tires are legal from November 1st to April 15th in Ohio.

    You're not wrong, MirageRally. For most of the year, studs are banned.

    Red face my '23 - '24 snow tires

    i know this is an old post, but wanted to share what I used this year
    165/65r14 is what came on my mirage ...

    Vredestein Snow Trac 5 175/65R14 is what I put on and they were great ... will be going back to my originals in a few weeks

    I appreciate you sharing this, because 165/65r14 snow tires have become harder to find recently. I've been sort of watching 165/65r14 snow tires since I bought my Mirage in 2017. Nokian Nordman 7 snow tires (both studded & non-studded) were pretty much always available in the States. My pair were made in Russia, and this option has disappeared since the start of the war in Europe. Nokian Nordman 7 & Dunlop Winter Maxx II have been the main 165/65r14 snow tires options for us. Both are hard to find today!

    One may need to jump to 175/65r14 if they desire a snow tire these days. Given our lack of snow this winter in Wisconsin, I'm sort of glad I'm running my older Nokian snow tires (7th winter season for them & still holding up quite well).
