We need more posting by CVT owners on here. Too many 5speed posters on here talking about everything but the thing that matters most to us CVT owners, our transmissions lol! Thank god for Fummins being our sheppard, without him we'd be in the dark about how far theoretically we can go with our autos. Not discounting the valuable insight manual users post on here of course, CobraJet, TopFuel, Eggman, Mark, come to the forefront in my mind. If anyone on here drives an early 2014 auto, please post your experiences considering we are in a much more difficult position if we ever do have to outsource a used CVT. Cheers!

The highest mileage right now on the original cvt is 287k kms/178k miles. No issues yet. I might drop the pan next oil change and see what's in it.

I sent a lengthy email to Mitsubishi headquarters in Japan about your experience and endorsement of their Mirage autos. You very well might be the leading real world independent expert on these systems. If they get back to me Ill inform you. With the amount of independent analysis you've done over the years, I wouldnt be surprised if a trip out to Japan for a meeting would be offered to you. Its been done in the past with other manufacturers. Your a good dude Fummins, I mean that.

I took 2 apart and found the same failure in both. I have no clue why that bearing failed? I wouldn't say no to a hat, a car or even beer if they offered. I don't have much intelligence to share with enginerds though.

I sent frame shots of the majority of stats you posted on. Took me like an hour lol! Not intelligent enough? You got to be kiddin. Engineers are squat without actual experienced professionals with boots on the ground giving real world data on complex machines. Your too humble, an endearing Canadian trait IMO. Ill let you know as soon as I hear from Japan. You deserve something from them considering Ive scoured the internet I haven't found one mechanic, specialist, engineer, or Mitsu spokesman whose put out the level of data you have. And you dont even own one! Giving you total impartiality. If the CVT7 was crap, you would of gave data its crap. Ill be pissed off if I dont hear from them.

Dirk's hero, who art in Canada
    Fummins be thy name.
    thy memes are fun,
    Repairs be done,
On CVT's, as they are on manuals.
Give us this forum, our daily bread
    And forgive us our questions
As we appreciate those who answer.
Lead us not into bearing failure,
    But deliver us from Nissan.
For yours is the knowledge and experience we need.

    Amen.
