How much snow can the Mirage get through before getting stuck.....

The winds here are 45-50mph so the drift was about 11" high on the drivers side and only 3" mathe on the passenger side. I blasted into it hoping to make it to my garage and it didn't happen. Totally stuck.
The last pic you can see the bottom of the car was dragging in the snow and it was packed in. I had to do some shoveling under the car before I could rock back and forth and finally get out.

So once the snow gets to the door sill and front lower bumper it's all over.

If it's a firm snow under the car and it's holding the wheels from making firm contact with the ground, it's over with almost any vehicle. My Kawasaki Mule UTV with knobby tires & 4WD (with locking rear differential) hangs up easily in firm snow. Once the tires start to lose firm contact with the ground, it's over.

The Mirage holds its own for a small car, but there have been a number of days this winter where I am still very thankful for my older AWD Subaru Forester.

I got a rental Yaris stuck in maybe 1" of snow once in eastern Oregon. It was icy and rutted, and I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to driving in the snow. I freed myself by sticking the floor mats under the front tires for traction. You can see it wasn't much snow at all.

Yeah this snow was thickly packed as it is wind drifted snow. It drifted all night and I was actually able to leave this morning hugging the less drifted side and when I came home it was worse and I actually chose to try to blast through the deeper side knowing I was going to snow blow anyway but nope, no go.

In my defense, its stock all-season tires were nearly bald, the snow was all hard as a rock (like rutted ice), and... I'm out of excuses. I suck at winter driving.

Yeah it was a tight road and a truck was coming the other way. Over half of the car was eating snow. I had to clean out the holes.
