Max power factory MANUAL transaxle can handle??

Looking into ideas on making a racing swamp buggy all wheel drive.

The mirage trans has good ratios, and is light, also cheap!

Does anyone have an idea on the max power the transmission can handle???

Looking to hook up a 1000cc air cooled motorcycle motor to the trans, then run drive shafts to the front and rear axle from the trans. I would use the rice burner for the clutch and gears. Adjusting to water level with the transaxle shifter.

Just not big and badass like the fast guys are. Id be using the transaxle as a transfercase for the front and rear axles

What would you use for the rest? Motor and trans from a crotch rocket feeding the input of the Mirage transmission?

The entire setup currently planned is this...

1000cc air cooled sport bike motor.

F5M what ever the code is for the manual mirage transaxle

    Dana 40 or 44 axles.

48-52" tractor tires on all 4 corners

So it'd have 25-30 forward gears and 5 or 6 reverse?

The manual transmission is manufactured by Aisin and their designator is BC5. It has been used in the current Mirage generation and also previous Mirage. It was also used in the Toyota Yaris a few years back. So if it could handle a 1.5 4 cylinder it's probably going to be able to handle a 1000cc air cooled motorcycle engine.

Is there a reason to use an air cooled 1000cc engine? Are you gonna be limited to certain displacement or horsepower for completion? Would something like using just a regular rwd drive train coupled to 2 inline samurai divorced transfer cases for double gear reduction be easier?
