Me? Thrust washer on the input shaft piles up, once the fluid is contaminated and you get metal floating around the valve body it’s just makes more sense to me to replace the entire cvt than to bother attempting to scab it back together. I considered just replacing the bearing with a new input shaft but the valve body was contaminated, and they aren’t cheap. Even if it was cleaned up good, new input shaft, thrust bearing installed, I’d still be left with a cvt that has 300k kms that could have some other part fail a day later.

So far I’ve seen 2 cvt’s had the same bearing fail. https://mirageforum.com/forum/showth...ivery-vehicle)

I really wouldn’t loose any sleep over your car. Take care of it and it’ll likely last far longer than than it was designed to.

That's no joke. They are like some unstoppable horde! All we can do is hope they get sick of being on the road fleeing Cali while they are still in Oregon.

Its funny, a bunch from Los Angeles have moved here to Atlanta because of the new studios their putting up help, we call it Y'allywood lol. Mostly decent folks, but they do have an incessant need to remind you theyre from LA every 5 mins. I suppose they expect some kind of groveling peasant response? Lol kiddin

Plenty of people doing that! There's been a pretty big influx of people in their mid 50's and older here. It is mild weather here but you really really have to like rainy and grey days.

We sure don't worry about them moving in & wrecking our neighborhoods in WI & MN.

I say that as I watch the freezing rain & sleet pour down outside my living room window.

Lol... no. Come to Seattle, WA or Portland, OR and you'll see that's not true.
