I've actually owned MANY 2.6L engines. The engine itself wasn't bad (except ease of service for that timing chain... I never did one but jeez what a nightmare) but that stupid garbage Mikuni-Solex carburetor sure was!

I've only seen ones that knocked and puked oil everywhere in old 80's caravans. But that was mostly because junkyard.

Well, the big reason the 2.6L engine had so many issues was because the carb... but also the timing chain guides (and, more importantly, the balance shaft chain guides) would fail and cause the chain to rattle like crazy. The balance shaft chain would break or fall off when this happened for a bit which means the car would still RUN but the oil pump was sitting dormant. After a few seconds of no oil pressure, engine goes kaboom. Plus, it doesn't help that typical Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler owners were the type of people where "If it ain't broke don't fix it" instead of "I should follow the required maintenance."

Scotty used to have a video where he would get under a car that was supported solely by a jack (no jack stands). I called this out to him on youtube and he just got snarky. After that I lost respect.

Wow that's just dumb. Putting your life in the hands of a jack? No thanks.

You know, he went to college in Canada, so he's practically Canadian.

Me, I find refreshing his lack of self-importance in contrast to pretty much any other automotive youtuber.
And it helps that he is old and laughs a lot.
But, yes, it is clear he pushes buttons on a lot of people.
