I hate how good the new RVR looks...

it's just so tempting. Can't describe why I love it, it just... looks great. Will grab a photo of the Dark Gray one on our lot to share shortly. The taillamps, I think, are what really set it off for me. Looks wide, low but not really, just a sexy stance... ugh. I want it. I have NO NEED FOR IT, but this damned thing speaks to me. If they ever came out with a 6MT with more than an utterly pathetic 168hp I'd jump all over it.

    Will snap photo after work.

That emotional reaction is exactly what dealers and salesmen count on to sell cars.

    Is anyone immune?

I've got no issues with power with my 2019 OS/RVR with the manual 5 speed. The 2.0 is so smooth and loves to rev. It would be really nice to use the 6 speed MT from the UK Eclipse Cross because the ratios are closer and the overdrive ratio is much higher (4th, 5th & 6th are all overdrive ratios) but overall my OS/RVR is a hoot to drive. Here is the breakdown between the two transmissions.

    Transmission Model: F5MBB
    Engine Model: 4B11
Transmission Type: 5 speed, floor shift

    Transmission gear ratio:
    1st: 3.833
    2nd: 1.913
    3rd: 1.333
    4th: 1.028
    5th: 0.82
    Reverse: 3.583

    Transmission Model:- F6MBC
    Engine Model:- 4B40
    Transmission Type:- 6speed, floor shift.
    Transmission gear ratio
    1st: 3.833
    2nd: 2.047
    3rd: 1.303
    4th: 0.975
    5th: 0.744
    6th: 0.659
    Reverse: 3.545

I really want to drive a manual OBS. They're a great bargain and super versatile. I should go find one to drive.

Psst, Bronco Mitsubishi in Boise has a bunch of 2019 5 speed manuals. Last time I looked they had at least 6 or 7 of them.

What the hell is an RVR? You mean the Outlander Sport? Can we please speak American on this forum? lol I kid. I saw a sweet Manual pearl white 2019 Sport on the lot awhile back. Is the clutch as feather light as in the Mirage?

Oh, it’s just a bunch of social media hype.

The OS/RVR/ASX has a hydraulic clutch so it does take a little effort but it’s pretty light. What is super twitchy is the throttle response. I’ve driven manual transmissions all my life but the throttle response is so sensitive it would not be a good vehicle to learn how to drive a stick. It is hands down the best shifting manual I’ve ever driven but with the 2.0 4B11 you have to drive it assertively. The engine and transmission are identical to the 5 speed 2.0 Lancer. It is literally the Lancer’s engine and transmission dropped into the OS. Fun to drive like a compact sedan, not so fun if you want to drive it like a truck. The 2.0 is a “square” engine (bore and the stroke are the same). It’s so well balanced that there isn’t a counterbalance on this engine. But there is zero torque down low and doesn’t really come alive until 3000 rpm and once MIVEC kicks in it will just jump to 5000+ in a heartbeat.

Vaccination = Dropping the manual transmission option in 2020 makes me lose interest fast.

Both the 2019 & 2020 Outlander Sports are nice looking vehicles, however. I wouldn't argue that!
