    Crash Test Video

Youtube started suggesting these to me---for cars that did not do well.

Me, I've put more miles on motorcycles than cars in my life
so I don't much worry about accidents and crash worthiness.

These are TESTS not real world gore, so no worries.

    And so to the Mirage,

    Full frontal,

Small overlap, probably a really tough test,

More common, moderate overlap--Mirage looks to have done better than my Corolla on this one.

Okay, there are a bunch more, different years, different crash types.

I hope this helps, but doesn't encourage any real world testing. Ha, ha.

Wow. I didn't expect that. Even planes don't look that bad. Yes, certainly an eye-opener.

I LOVE that robot-controlled moose test!!

Here's what it looks like when you don't have ESC on a tall-ish car (this is the South American market version of the Nissan Kicks - the U.S./Canadian version has standard stability control):

I'm glad the Mexicans don't mount the safety outriggers to the car like the NCAP people do. Makes for much more exciting imagery!
