Maybe it's an extra oil pump. I read several times on our forums that the Nissan Note E12 with a start-stop, the CVT is slightly different just at the expense of an additional pump. And we have the same CVT

    Very interesting.

In CVT -2015 Mirage.pdf we can find that they are hiding that object. When you zoom it its completely transparent.

In CVT OVERHAUL – 2015 MIRAGE.pdf it is visible.

I cant find it even in CIRCUIT DIAGRAMS, CHASSIS ELECTRICAL, COMPONENT LOCATIONS, COMPONENT LOCATIONS........

At this moment in video, https://youtu.be/hdWkCOx0cXQ?t=34 cvt-7 -2015 has the oil pump powered by chain by the torque converter from side if the engine. Inner axle is powered by the torque converter from the other side, the gearbox side, also that axle has all power to move the car.
So, when the engine works with depressed brake pedal, cvt is in D or R, the torque converter rotates only engines side, not other of the gearbox, and the oil pump works just fine.

I think that the new model don't have this set. I think that it has same oil pump powered only with gearboxes side of torque converter (primary pulley) AND the electric oil pump for moments when the engine does not rotate the gearbox, when the car does not move.
In that way, it saves engine power in neutral, it can regulate pressure depending on the need, can work with AS&G to cool down oil when the engine is off..

Here is my oil pump without air cooler like yours

Is it possible that the oil wear counter is important when the gearbox is working? On my cars I reset it when I change the oil

Hello JoanNash and welcome to the forum.

The Mirage has a good transmission both automatic CVT and manual 5-speed, though nany here on the forum will recommend the manual transmission.
