    Question Question about strut mount

    Hello!
I have a strange sound in the suspension on speed bump or when I pulling up to and away from curbs.
Inspection on the car service didn't show anything
But that what I noticed yesterday:

Mine doesn't look too much different. I do not have any odd suspension noise.

So is the issue in that picture that the rubber boot around the top bearing is torn?

    Exactly.

On your photo I don't see that the rubber have something like threads around the edges near top bearing.

But if dirt got in there, most likely a creak would be heard...but not knocking.

What kinda noise. It's sorta impossible to hear it from here. Looks like the boot that covers the strut nut is mia. That's just stops dirt and pooh from collecting and rusting out the nut. Many older cars don't even come with that.
Do you hear a creaking, squeaking or banging, clunking? Could be sway bar bushings. They feel like bad strut mounts when they go and give a slight clunk over little bumps, can be a pain to track down. Super common on 300's,chargers etc, but I haven't seen any wear on the Mirage's. I've also seen sway bar bushing squeak like crazy, and ball joints as well. But again, I still haven't changed a single suspension part in a Mirage.

Not so long ago I was in the third car service.
And they nothing found again, all suspension is in perfect condition.

So I decided to install the factory springs back instead of my H&R -30mm.
But...It doesn't help, the problem remained.
As you all know after that I needed to make wheel alignment.
    And that's what we saw:

It was impossible to set the right shock absorber. The maximum value that could be set 0,20.
This means that in some place shock absorber is a curve.

I don't remember such a big road hole where I could get with the right wheel.
This is too strange for me and at the same time, the problem is almost solved.
Now with a value of 0.20, I need to try hard to hear this sound again.

To Kocmuk and the others wondering about front alignment,
you may want to read these threads where your questions may find answers:

    1.) https://mirageforum.com/forum/showth...ure-and-adjust

    2.) https://mirageforum.com/forum/showth...eck-and-adjust

As stated in those threads, Check and adjust camber first. A camber adjustment kills toe-in!
Then with camber done, look at toe - in.

The rubber part in post 1 looks normal to me.

Do they have one number? Why is everything sold separately?

    @ Kocmuk:
If you look at the two links in post nr. 7 and read and fully understand them, you should be able to diagnose suspension problems. The correct values of adjustment and how to adjust camber are topic there. My car has camber and toe in adjusted to neutral, that is 0.0 degrees. This was done for best economy, but that was my choice. If you stay within factory specifications, you can expect no problems.

Sometimes rubber joints can make noises, but the rubber damper in first post will probably not make any noise.

The shock absorber inside the strut can make squeaky or groaning noises, but usually not loud enough to hear it inside a moving car. You could try to push the car up and down to look for the noise maker.

Why do they sell parts separately? Not everybody wants to buy everthing when only one little piece is needed.
