    Stereo Volume

I have a 2017 Mirage ES. And as many of you know, the stereo—even at "full blast"—is pretty quiet. I have the non-touchscreen model. Is the touchscreen version any louder?

I have no problem buying an aftermarket head unit and new surround, but I was curious as to the other Mitsubishi factory stereo.

I have not heard the non screen radio but my se radio is just decent. With windows down on the fwy it needs to be close to max to hear it well. I dont want to turn it up all the way due to a bit of distortion and not wanting to blow these cheap woofers lol.

With windows up its plenty decent though for a 10k economy car. I used to install stereos in all my cars but now days it's not a priority for me.

I had a 2017 Lancer rental for a week a while back, and the speakers weren't any better than in my Mirage. There was a touchscreen, and there was a CD player.

I looked at my old Mitsubishi brochures from 2014, and sure enough, the Lancer and the Mirage both have a 140 watt stereo, 4 speakers. Fair to presume the identical stereo in my Mirage as in the Lancer. Only difference is I think the Lancer got a touchscreen first.

That all said, I think you can get a factory or dealer installed Rockford Fosgate stereo upgrade, I think that unit is 300 watts. So way more power. And all of those RF stereos are touchscreen I believe, not just some, as with the 140 watt unit.

So in conclusion I think in the Mirage touchscreen doesn't necessarily mean a better more bumping stereo, but it might. Depends if you have the 300w stereo, or the more entry level 140 watt 4 speaker.
