    Switching out CVTs for 2014

My Mirage was manufactured before 04/01/14 meaning it has the 2700A304 part number (CVT) different from the post 04/01/14 2700A424. Was there ever a consensus on whether these are truly different parts with no interchangeability or just a simple part name change? Seems weird the CVT7 cant fit in all model years 2014 - 2019.

I'm pretty sure the CVT would be the same on the 2013 and 2014 model year Mirages, wouldn't be a bad guess, and also some 2013 builds were sold as 2014 cars (like mine) not sure about a 2019. Not sure your investment on your car and what you're willing to gamble, if you're changing the tranny with another you have, you are probably not within warranty. I have the 5 speed manual, not bad can be annoying.

But would the post 04/01/14 2700A424 fit into my pre 04/01/14? Being in the US I wouldnt be able to find a 2013 CVT I believe. Its all just conjecture though my cvt is working fine and I plan on getting 150k miles out of it lol. Im just working thru eventualities if issue ever comes up.

I know how you would find out for sure, I mean if you find one in the junk yard one day, I don't see any problem with swapping the CVT, the different number there you mention may be more of a date thing? than a change in mechanical workings, parts, etc. I wonder if even the Lancer is the same CVT? Maybe not.

I'm guessing about this whole thread, but seems plausible same tranny same mechanical pieces and dies building the trannys 2013 and 2014 years for the Mirage.

Mirages and parts in Canada are likely to be a bigger issue to find them.

I really don't know if a late 14 and early 14' would interchange. And just cause 'they look the same' doesn't mean they are. The wiring inside might be different. I know that there are a lot of subtle wiring changes between the 15' and 17's in the body wiring so anything is possible. It's not uncommon for first year models to have some oddball 1 year wonder parts on them.

That's a good point. I wouldn't be surprised if the CVT hasn't changed much, but the manifold design changed, not the engine block itself, etc. Things are tweaked over the years, like my first year Mirage with the funky defective starter, then 15's and up no issue all fixed.

What does that mean though Fummins? 1 year wonder part? Im guessing it means a pain in the ass trying to find 6, 7 years from now?
