    Wow, so...

I walk around 5 miles a day, in the second-deadliest state in the country for pedestrians.

I ride my bike about 6 miles a day. Arizona is also the fourth-deadliest state for cyclists.

Now I learn, on the rare occasions when I do drive, I drive the deadliest car in the country?

    I'm so dead.

Apparently because mine is a 2014 it doesnt come with the reinforced steel (RISE) or brake control overide. Living in a metropolis that is notorious for high speed limits and completely idiotic drivers, Im tripled screwed lol!

"New for the 2015 model year are the brake override system and the Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) impact-absorbing safety cell technology. The first one applies simultaneously the brake and accelerator pedals, while the vehicle is moving, and at the same time makes the engine ECU override the accelerator's input and gives priority to the brakes. The second safety technology works in event of a collision. Its structure helps dissipate kinetic energy away from the driver and passengers."

Am I worried though? Nah. My drive style doesnt have my foot piveting on its heel from throttle to brake, I simple lift my whole foot going back and fourth (prevents gas pedal knee). And Im guessing the brake control overide is for folks that accidentally depress both pedals at the same time by accident? As for the RISE system, I doubt that it makes a 2015 model that much safer than a 2014.

Some of that override stuff can be pretty annoying. I was with a buddy in his new at the time trailblazer ss in the winter time. He tried Tokyo drifting around a corner doing maybe 30mph if that, stabilitrac kicked in and tried to stop the slide. We ended up sliding off the road, hit a culvert and landed on his neighbors driveway. The thing was written off, body was twisted so bad it broke the one 1/4 glass. Good thing for replacement value insurance. Worst part was I spilled my beer.
