Question The right headlight bulb for Mirage

I ordered 2 headlight bulbs from Rockauto about 1 month ago but I just realized they might send me the wrong one, what I received are 9003 HB2 bulbs not the 9007 HB5. I found on the user manual that the earlier models of Mirage, it takes 9003 HB2 bulbs, but for 2017 and 2018 Mirage G4 they use 9007 HB5. Both 9003 and 9007 bulbs looks almost the same, not sure if I can put 9003 on my 18 Mirage G4. Anyone has an idea?

You would be the first to report that change. My understanding was there have been no changes in headlight bulbs from the model years (with the exception of the projection headlights in the GT).

I checked all the Mirage user manuals and found all Mirage models use 9003 HB2 BUT for 2017 and 2018 G4 they use 9007 HB5. Just be careful. Rockauto still have the wrong info on their website.

Good to know, thanks for researching this.

I didn't notice any difference (in the cars I work on).I use the 9003 in every 15' and 17' hatchback. The g4 has a different headlight altogether. If you look up an 18 G4 it shows on rockauto that it takes a 9007. So either they were pretty damn fast to fix their website or you just goofed and ordered parts for a regular mirage.

The only thing a 9003 has in common with a 9007 is that it's made partly of glass. The 9003 has a connector like an old sealed beam and is held in place with a metal spring clip. The 9007 has a plastic connector and is typically held in place with a plastic collar.

FYI - AutoZone & O'Reilly both list 9003 headlight bulbs for the Mirage & 9007 headlight bulbs for the G4, too.
