Here is the replacement battery installed by my dealer. On a service visit to address a recall, I asked that they look at my battery as I had noticed it leaked some acid which caused corrosion to the battery hold down strap. I was hoping that they would simply replace the damaged component. Instead, my dealer replaced the hold down and battery. The replacement battery is Mitsubishi part number AMG8FB1X01, a Group 35 battery by Mitsubishi.

A word about sizing.
There are different methods for securing a battery. I've seen batteries clamped at the bottom and with a strap across the top.
The clamp is used at the base of a battery to secure the battery in a battery tray. This method requires a protrusion or some other similar construction detail that would allow this clamp to work.
Refer to the diagram found here at MitsubishiPartsWarehouse.com for details: Electrical/Battery for 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage
The Mirage uses a simple hold down across the top of the battery which is secured to the battery tray with J-hook screws. This method requires that the battery have a top cover that will allow the hold down to fit without interfering with caps or vents.
Measuring the size of a battery can cause problems if these points are not taken into account. There are several reports here on the forum of replacement batteries that need modification in order to fit. We've had a report about modifying the battery box, or what Mitsubishi calls a 'Seat' (8201A191). We also had a report that longer J-hooks or Battery Mount Bolt (MA604676) were needed for their replacement battery.
With so many different sizes, mounting styles, and other criteria, I thought it would be helpful to list some different options that are readily available to help make battery replacement easier for us all. Sometimes the hardest part is picking a replacement. Putting it in can be pretty easy, and has been covered.
