In the U.S. the Outlander ES, SE, LE, SEL all have have the 2.4L engine with CVT. Only the GT has the V6 3.0L engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Outlander with a 2.4L engine/CVT has a towing capacity of 1,500 pounds. The Outlander with the 3.0L engine 6-speed automatic has a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.

Isn't that the model or platform that was once called the Endeavor?

I guess not. I found these entries for the what's called the Outlander and Outlander Sport here in North America.

    Mitsubishi Endeavor
    Mitsubishi PS platform

Mitsubishi RVR and Mitsubishi Outlander, both based on the Mitsubishi GS platform

I'm still trying to make sense of Mitsubishi's naming system for their vehicles.

Last I read, Mitsubishi will remain selling in the US until further notice. They will be introducing a 3 cylinder turbo producing 94 horses.

Do you have a link to your source? I'd like to read more about the turbo 3 cylinder.

Fummins said a turbo could burn out the CVT7. Id only trust it on a manual. I dont understand Mitsubishi is making a big comeback in US sales and their pontificating if theyre even going to stay in the US market? Not reassuring at all.

Whoops, you're right. I only looked up the v6 one. Here only the ES models have the 4 cylinder I believe.

And it looks like you're right too.
I haven't seen one in person yet, pictures look decent. Hoping to get the damn car paid off in another year. Plan to sell the pig armada, the car, get a newer cheaper to fuel up suv and I'll pick up something cheap to get to work. Maybe we'll be getting rid of a few Mirage's by then. I'd buy a cheapo one to try for a while. Would sure be nice to be able to fit in the garage this winter.

    Mitsubishi's new direction?

Could there be a turbo in the future of the Mirage?
