    Greetings from Miami!

Just picked up a 2018 ES. Loving the small car chic, not so impressed with the lower headroom in the back, but otherwise lovin it. Hope to talk with many of you!

Welcome aboard. That Sapphire Blue looks really sharp on these cars!

Hello Kyalami321 and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your new Mirage.

Here's a couple tips for a new owner. There are things I did when I first got mine and you can't beat the price.

    1. I increased the air pressure in my tires. This depends on your comfort level, as I went above and beyond not just what's printed on the door sticker but the sidewall maximum pressure. For myself, I appreciate the much improved fuel economy and rolling resistance, but it's something the owner has to be comfortable with.

    2. I disabled the automatic air conditioning. Doing this saves wear and tear on the compressor as well as improve fuel economy.

I'm not sure what model Mirage you have, and if it includes the automatic climate controls like mine does. Consider making a forum Garage entry and show off your Mirage. You'll find a link to our Garage entries in the left column, just below the forum member's name, on each post.

    Garage empty: add car

Have a look around and let us know if you have any questions. Welcome.

    Welcome!

New or used? (Looks new to my eyes.) Good deal?

    What were you driving before?

Hey everyone! Thanks for the warm welcome. This is a used 2018 Mirage ES with 7k miles. I was actually driving a 91 Galant before, purchased new in New York in 91 or 92 and still running (with some issues, of course) at 265k miles. A/C still blows cold but it burns some oil and the passenger window won't go down. I'll put a pic at the end.

As far as a good deal, I hope so! That remains to be seen ... that being said, I'm already thinking that I should've gotten the premium head unit that supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto .... is the stock 7" touchscreen display a standard double-DIN sized unit which would allow me to get a fancy stereo further down the road?

Wow. Congrats on looking after a car to that age/mileage! That's impressive!

I was just thinking this AM that I have the record for the longest car ownership in my extended family, at 14 years. Pales in comparison to your Galant history.

Welcome to the site! Congrats on the new Mirage too.

I'd definitely look at your tire pressure. It looks like the front tire is pretty low in your picture.

And Scotty Kilmer said Mitsubishi automatics never hit 200k miles!
