And floor mats and cargo cover nowhere to be seen.
I get it when a mfg. leaves out an expensive item, like AC, on a base model. It allows them to either up sell or gouge with a $4,000 trim package. When they start leaving out $2 worth of items which are "necessary" and expect people to pay hundreds of dollars for those same items as options that really burns me up. It leaves me with a bad taste that said company is too greedy for their own good. That, and they don't deserve my money.
Rant time:
Face it, if expensive Nike/Reeboks cost $2 in SE Asia to make then floor mats & a cardboard panel can't be much more. If 50,000 Mirages are sold worldwide the cost of adding those items back in will total $100,000 worldwide, or about the price of selling 15 or so cars. I can almost be certain Mitsubishi will lose more than 15 car sales because they made these items options.
Just because a car is entry level, or cheap, or both, doesn't mean a mfg. has cart blanche to turn needed items into optional items.
