I test drove the CVT and almost went with it because of ease of commuting in city traffic with it AND its low rpm at highway speeds would make the engine last longer and be more efficient.
I think the CVT do well in the Mirage from what I have studied. Mitsu did their homework. The light weight of Mirage is perfect combo for this engine, unlike in the competitions vehicles.

I almost went with the CVT as I am currently living back in the Detroit area to be around family again and be a help to Mom if she needs me.
Still a resident of Tennessee but working temporarily in Michigan, so ALOT of city driving.
Detroit? I heard you can buy a 3 bedroom house there for $25k. Thats a great deal if true.

I think you should check out the neighborhood first before drawing any conclusions.

Bristol - congrats on your MPG.

It's great to read from another owner who's happy with the car.

Might cut in to the spare CVT budget.

I think I can source a CVT from Detroit! The seller, a gentleman called "Upgradde" and that's 2 Ds (in his words) for a "double dose of this pimpin", has a 2014 CVT for a great deal. He said it fell off the back of a truck.

Bristol - still happy driving the Mirage, or has the novelty started to wear off?
