I have 2 mallets for some reason. Nice to have around. I would lend it to you but that's tricky. Sort of thing that is a good garage sale find

Only thing I buy at garage sales are old dolls so I can brush their hair.

Funny you say that I was thinking just now that another around-the-house tool that's great to have, and overlooked, is a dolly. Or one stand up dolly for fridges, and a horizontal dolly for couches etc.

Joys of my own old house.

Doesn’t have to be a mallet. Can use a wrench, a rock or a person.

If anyone out there wants to watch the quick vid and throw their 2 cents in, Im all ears. I just had the car inspected not 4 months ago and was told everything looked good except get new pads when I hit over 50k miles, Im only at 48k. Im very easy on the brakes and rarely drive over 30 miles a day.

Fummins if I took my tire off and spray the rotor with WD40 or something and wiped them off, you'd think that could help? I checked, all the tires had 4 lug nuts and both the front axle nuts were slightly rusty just as you predicted.

I have had a wheel bearing make that noise before and under the same circumstances. It made a rotational wa wa wa/minor grinding noise and only under light braking at slower speeds. Took a long time to diagnose because bearings don't typically present like that, I thought it must be brake related, almost like there was a hard spot on the rotor or pad.

    Maybe check the wheel bearing?

How much was it to replace?

Please don’t spray rotor with any oil! My phone sucks, I could hardly hear on a good day. I heard a kinda noise when you were almost stopped. Wheel bearings can sometimes be a bits to diagnose. How about having a screw in your tire? That might a noise like that? But it’s do it without braking too so never mind.
