Connecting factory microphone to aftermarket stereo

    Hello everyone,

I have a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage ES which I've recently installed an aftermarket double-din Sony apple car play compatible stereo in. It came with a microphone that you can plug into the back and clip somewhere, but why make the care look even more aftermarket with an unsightly clip on microphone when there is a perfectly fine microphone already there? Could someone who has a lot of experience with the wiring of the Mirage help me locate which wire goes to the microphone and if it would be possible to splice the wire, splice and aux cord, and just connect the two and plug it into my new stereo? Thanks, I am sorry if this is a dumb question...

I had this question too but could not find it pinned out. What i did instead was take the factory mic out (held in with two clips) and put the new mic in its place sticking it to the roof of the car. works extremely well and looks 100% factory
