Mitsubishi Mirage: Launch Review (Australia - CarSales.com.au)

A real interesting review and they have driven it and report on the fuel economy they got. Also they say it has a Cd of 0.31

    Summary:

    What we liked
    >> Small size perfect for the city
    >> Combination of price and equipment
    >> More cohesive drive than expected

    Not so much
    >> Road noise intrusion
    >> Build quality could be better
    >> Engine needs to be worked hard
    Notable points:

    • Mitsu Aus thinks sales will look like: 40% LS, 30% ES, 30% ES Sport
    • 70% of sales projected to be CVT
    • Differences from the Thai market Mirage:
      - front stabiliser bar
      - upgraded sound insulation
      - interior detail changes
    • 6 airbags, but no NCAP star rating yet. "Mitsubishi is anticipating a full five star result"
    • ABS, with brake force distribution, stability control standard
    • ON THE ROAD - A basic car, but done well
    • decent 6.5L/100km fuel consumption average, per the MID (urban 2 hour loop, driven hard)
    • relatively comfortable ride
    • lack of steering wheel reach adjustment
    • interior is a cut above for the segment

    Parting shot:

The good thing is the Mirage delivers above the minimum requirement. It's not outstanding, not deplorable, but cheap, (mostly) well equipped and well executed. Nice to know you're still with us Mitsubishi.
