    Goodbye

After a lot of searching and saving I have found my next car. This meaning the mirage portion of my life is over.

It's not that it was a bad car, just not the car for me. I have a lot of want to make a faster more agile vehicle and the Mirage does not willingly go along with such fantasies.

I may come down from speed demon desires but today is not that day. For now I drive away in a MK7 Golf Tsi.

Goodbye Tav, you were loyal. Maybe your next owner will be too.

Enjoy your new ride, shadowtuy. VW Golf is a classic hatchback to go with.

I dont know about that VW..... the parts and repairs are expensive in the USA. I get my speed thrills on my motorcycle and I appreciate the economy and reliability of the Mirage.

I would recommend to anyone who is looking for some fun to buy a used $3000 motorcycle. You should see me carve up the gridlock rush-hour traffic on the motorcycle. Im the only vehicle that is moving =)

To the OP: Sounds like buying this car in the first place was a mistake. Its not for everyone. Certainly it does not have speed and torque. Thats why I make it a point when giving people advice about the Mirage....to tell them that if they are a leadfoot or the type of driver that wants "speed thrills" that they are not the target audience for Mirage.

In my personal opinion the target audience for the Mirage is somebody that views their car as a "tool" rather then as an extension of their personality.

For me the Mirage is a tool designed to transport me from point A to B at the lowest price. Period. I dont expect anything more from the car then that and therefore it does not disappoint me. Is it going to "keep up with the Joneses?" Hell, no.

But I am a big fan of efficiency and of "doing the MOST with the least". I am a fan of the Zero Waste lifestyle. For me this car ticks all those checkboxes. It will get you where you want to go safely.

As if Motorcycles are not dangerous enough now days they are a true death wish considering the quality of todays driver and the over abundance of distractions like texting and in car gadgets etc. I used to ride but there is no way I would now unless it was a very desolate country setting. Miami FL? Lmao oh lawd no.

I'm constantly almost getting side swiped by people that have zero peripheral vision cause they're wearing some some damn head piece that blocks the sides of their face. Then when I pull up next to them to kindly tell them off the don't even look! I couldn't imagine being on a bike, the freeway would be littered with kicked off side view mirrors for miles. Along with people on the news claiming to be a target of a hate crime. I'd probably kick the wrong car one day and end up being road pizza if I rode.

My little brother was learning to drive and I was inn the passenger seat when the guy in the left lane started to veer to the right over the line. I had to honk the horn a second time for a longer period of time because the idiot couldn't get a clue. Thee amount of bad drivers on the road just keeps on increasing. I'm sure people learning to drive have a high risk of getting into an accident because no one seems to pay attention.
