    Rotory?

My mirage will be paid off in less than a year!

I am thinking a rotory swap could be fun.

    Thought's???

    Lets talk about it.

A 13B-REW would be a hoot! Tough part would be to find a transmission to bolt up to. I’m not sure of the availability of adapters but there is no way the Mirage’s 5 speed would take that much power. Might be easiest to use a 323 or 626 manual. Fun fun project for sure.

Have you done an engine swap before?
    Simplify and add lightness.

    Fummins,
. . . . I am a rotary engine tech and I know how to build hot Wankels. The one in my RX-3 was putting out 250 lb/ft from 3K to 13.5K rpm and 500 HP at 11.5K. I was turning 13.1 at 110 mph in the quarter in a 2,200 lb car. Fun, fun, fun. It would also kill you in a heart beat if you got stupid with it.

I've seen people make crazy power from rotory's on the interwebs.

My 350 rwhp 6 speed firebird(as per dynojet chassis dyno) was a slow low 13 second car on drag radials and high 13 with my crappy driving and street tires. It was easily 1000lbs heavier. t-top, leather, loaded tank of a car in comparison lol. Other than the engine, clutch and exhaust everything else was stock and crappy. It did good burnouts.

    Fummins,
. . . . I was running 225 T/As on the street. If I put krinkle walls on I would turn 12.1 at 130. I had traction bars and a limited slip diff with 4.96 gears in the rear end. It would carry with the front tires off the ground for 100 ft with the T/As and 300 feet with the slicks. It was clocked at 161 mph three times and I regularly drove it at 130 to 140 on the open road. I don't how fast it would go. Probably over 200. Like I said it was a lot of fun but it would kill you very quickly if you got stupid with it and stupid was anything over 140.
    GOD Bless and Thanks,
    rich!
