    Hot Weather + Hills + A/C

    I just got back from a 4k road trip from Portland-Boise-SLC-Arches-Zion-Las Vegas-Death Valley-San Francisco-Crater Lake-Portland.

Leaving Vegas heading south it was 108ish and with this one long steep hill and AC my temperature got up to 217. Same number leaving Death Valley. It had me nervous, but she kept trucking along. Still very happy after 5 years!

Pictures!! Sounds like a great trip, and you didn't burn much gas.

I would of had it in low gear the entire time I was in San Fran lol. Those hills are insane!

I used Ds a lot in San Fran, and more through the mountains. She was sitting around 5.5k to 6k for awhile climbing.

I dont have the Ds just B, so its only regular and low gear for me. You should try going up a steep hill in L, it might keep your rpms lower?

Low doesn't work for highway speeds. L does work good for city hill driving
