    My girl's G4 is 3 years younger than mine and her steelies are starting to slightly rust. Nothing a can of rust proofing flat black primer cant solve in 5 mins. I figure Ill just keep repraying every 6 months or so.

    If you want a more permanent solution, spend some time to remove the rust first. Primer is just covering it up temporarily.

    There are some extremely effective products on the market for removing rust. Metal Rescue has a non-toxic gel you can brush on vertical surfaces (like wheels), then you cover it with plastic wrap and walk away. In a few hours, all the rust will disappear. Once the rust is gone, hit the wheels with some etching primer and top-coat that with some paint. Primer is not a durable top-coat that will last.

    I just sprayed some enamel coating on the paint for added protection and some shine. Ill post pics after drying.
