The 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage won both “Best Economic Performance Award”

The 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage won both “Best Economic Performance Award” and “Best All-Around Performance Award.” For “Best Economic Performance,” the Mirage outperformed all 1,640 vehicles assessed for the 2019 model year. For “Best All-Around Performance,” it outscored the competition in ASG’s combined environmental, social and economic performance analyses.

Not many cars get better fuel economy than the Mirage. I think some Prius models must, but they're expensive compared to the Mirage. No expensive, rare-metals laden batteries in the Mirage, either! Just simple fuel-efficient motor, and lightweight chassis.

Mitsubishi sure didn’t think so. No one had any idea if a 74hp subcompact would even sell at all in North America. The original GOAL was to hopefully sell 7500 Mirages a year! Well, here we are almost 6 yrs and 100k+ in sales.

If you are curious about Mirage sales, these are numbers. This past July was another good month for the Mirage.

Yup, it has won this award (and others like it) more than a few times. The car excels at what it was designed to do:

The tally will be around 130,000 by the end of this year:
