    clutch options on ebay

I'm wondering what the difference if there is any between the exedy brand name or the Mitsubishi clutch kit

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-EXEDY-M...d/283472050809

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-05-976-...D/283472065887

i remember reading that the oem clutch is already an exedy. (post #14 https://mirageforum.com/forum/showth...Flywheel/page2) thanks loren.

and i remember stevedmc bought the less expensive ebay clutch. which i wonder if its made by exedy and has the same part number

my clutch is alright for now but i have put about 60k of city miles on it in 2 years being a delivery driver. that makes me want to have a replacement on hand. i'll probably buy a new cable and a master cylinder rebuild kit too.

rockauto has an out of stock clutch kit made by ams which i know nothing about.

also i remember reading that we use the nissan cvt transmission. anyone think the nissan clutch would mate?

Not sure about the clutch. Others will have to chime in on that.

Having a spare clutch cable handy is definitely not a bad idea. A few people have had them break. I keep a spare in my car just in case.

No need to worry about a clutch master/slave cylinder in our cars because the clutch is not hydraulic. Gotta love old-school simplicity.

ive also had the cable snap on my 96 outback years ago. 2 cables and the the bolt holding the cable to the pedal broke so i went to home depot and got a better bolt.

Bought my Mirage new, and I now have 126,000 city delivery miles on my original clutch. No issues. However, my clutch cable did snap at 113,000. Very good idea to have one of those on hand. It took about 15 minutes to change the cable...and almost a week to get one shipped to me from an online Mitsubishi parts house.

Dealership would have been a couple days faster, but about twice as expensive.

There was no warning before it broke. I was just driving through a neighborhood, went to shift from second to third, and...("pop"). That was it.

thats good to know your clutch has more than twice as many delivery miles than mine. im getting a cable off amazon for 28.99 to keep with the spare. changing the cable on the outback was pretty easy and self explanatory so id image its the same on the mirage. but yeah it was very sudden and with no warning and pretty scary the first time. but at least its the most likely thing to break and an easy fix.

Got a link? If somebody is making an aftermarket clutch cable for the Mirage then it may be news.

Good to know, but I didn't see anything like that listed on Amazon. Not sure the OP is ordering a cable that will work?

Interesting. That clutch cable on Amazon says it won't work in a Mirage?!?

When you get it post some pics. We can compare them the the OEM cable.
