If you like the new Versa, my bet is you'll like the next gen Mirage just as much.

I agree! My one caveat to that is-if I don't like the interior dash design/layout, I know I'll never be happy in that car, so save myself the trouble and NOT consider it. For example, some older Hyundais (like the Elantra/first gen Veloster era) had the center stack that for some reason reminded me of an alien face. (I dunno either lol). Regardless, I didn't like it (loved the outsides though) so it was a no go. I wasn't a huge fan of the G4's looks at first, but it's grown on me. Well, the looks REALLY grew on me when I got $8k off the MSRP . I've been lucky enough to be able to buy cars I like both inside and outside for the majority of what I've bought. I wonder if the 2021 Mirage/G4 will have some sort of 'safety suite' that is getting more common now? Like the new Versa. Which would in turn cause a price/weight bump? Plus, I actually like NOT having all of that stuff. I'm super happy to have the backup camera, plentiful airbags, and a car that's willing to scoot around in traffic, and brake without fuss. I felt a bit like a sitting duck in my 97 Corolla in the Portland traffic. Anyhow...lol.

My opinion - The Mirage is going to go onto the Nissan Micra platform, the G4 will get discontinued or go on as a rebadged Versa.
The Eclipse Cross will probably be the last soley Mitsubishi designed model.
^ the 2020 Versa is built on the new Micra platform. (Just as the previous generation shared a platform.)

So long as I can get a hatchback Mirage with a manual, I think I'll be happy.

The issue is though is the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. They joined together to possibly share platforms and parts to keep costs down. I trust Mitsubishi engineering, Im not sure about Nisssan and have no idea about Rensult. Your the respected opinion on here in regards to European car manufacturers considering you've dealt with them for what? 50 years? Opel, Renault, etc. are on a certain level unknown in North America. So if you say Renault is crap, I believe you.
