High pitched squeal noise from front wheel?

I noticed this today when driving with the drivers side window open. When I slow down to 5 mph it makes the squeal sound from 5mph to zero. If faster than 5 mph there is no squeel sound.

My car only has 18,000 miles on it and I would be quite shocked if I need new front brake pads since I am a real Granny driver who rarely slams the brakes

I will take the wheels off today and have a look at the brakes, see if any pebble got stuck in there perhaps? The last time I rotated the tires I just did it with a cross wrench so it may be that the lug nuts need tightening. We shall see. I never used a torque wrench

The video would be difficult because the noise is very faint. Not sure it would get picked up but I will do that assuming my inspection today does not discover the culprit.

Other threads on here have documented that the front pads wear quickly for some reason....18k on a 2015? A lot of short trips?

With only 18K I doubt it's brakes. Did you check your serpentine belt tightness? Most likely not the belt but should at least eliminate it as a possibility.

Loose lug nut?

LoL. It appears to have been the most simple solution after all.

When I was starting to take off the 2 front wheels I noticed 1 of the lug nuts was much looser than the others. When I put them on the last time I had failed to use a torque wrench.

This time I loosened the lug nuts on all 4 wheels and then torqued them all down to exactly 80 ft lbs. Went for a drive after that and I dont hear any noise.

I will update the thread if the problem returns. I would have felt "Hot-diggity-damned" if I needed new front pads this early!

EDIt: When I hand torqued them the last time I went WAY overboard even using a cross wrench I must have torqued them to >100 ft lbs. I finally after all these years bought a $10 click style torque wrench at Harbor Freight Tools.

I used to be one of those guys that says "Dont need a torque wrench" but now i finally realize how FAR OFF I have been on estimating foot pounds. I must have had those wheels torqued to >120 ft lbs and I am no better than those clowns that use an impact wrench to put lug nuts on.

Yaaaay I finally helped someone on here! Excited! I use a regular old tire iron for my nuts.
