mirage would crank on "on" without going all the way to "start"

We're going to need more details about this in order to better help you. Can you give us more information about your Mirage? Has anything been modified on it?

hello sir. i dont know if there is an existing thread regarding this. My car was in an accident. My bumper was replaced and the front of my car was re aligned. After i got the car it was okay but after a few days the starting or cranking on "on" started.

It sounds like your ignition switch has been damaged and needs to be repaired. Have you taken this up with your mechanic or the shop that repaired the damage from the accident?

not yet. but im sure they did not touch the inside of the car.

So to be clear, you have a key not a push button start. And when you turn the key to the "run" position the starter engages and the car tries to start? Do the other key positions work properly? No radio staying on when car is off and key removed? Without having more info I'd be guessing the ignition switch or tumbler is the problem.

yes i have a key. other key positions work properly. as soon as i engage the clutch, the starter engages
