Yep, the Mirage is a reliable car - I'll stand by that, and I don't think I said it is unreliable. I was only responding to your statement that the A/C compressor is more reliable than the Jatco CVT.

Of all the members who have shared their experiences, I recall the same amount of A/C compressor failures as CVTs (about 3 each.)

It's no surprise to me - both are mechanical devices subject to wear and eventual failure. I try to extend the life of my A/C compressor by turning off automatic control so it doesn't run as much, but that's just me.

Interesting. So how would you explain Nissan having a controlling ownership of Mitsubishi Motors stock?

How did iriegnome's thread about hitting a raccoon get hijacked into another dissertation about the CVT? Dirk, I love ya', my dude, but at this point some ativan is clearly indicated. Worrying is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere.

Same way Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has outside investors to share platforms example the F2. The Mitsubishi F-2 is a multirole fighter derived from the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon, and manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Lockheed Martin for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, with a 60/40 split in manufacturing between Japan and the United States. True Nissan owns 34% of Mitsubishi but thats only because the conglomerate permits it due to the bank of Mitsubishi having investments in Nissan. One hand washes the other I suppose.
