    Being responsible with maintenance

When the '14 gets home I guess it will need

    Trans fluid change
    Oil change
    Brake fluid change
    Radiator fluid change
Pull a wheel to check the brake lining.
    Mount snow tires
    Block heater (maybe...)

It's remarkably clean, so nothing required there.

What else should I do on this 239,000km car?

Krown? Although there is no warranty from Krown on cars older than 3 years or with more than 50,000 Km.

Test the battery? Wiper blades, make sure it has winter washer fluid in it. Check Air filter and cabin filter.

maybe a new serpentine belt or battery if needed. the belt is cheap and takes about 10-15 minutes to switch out.

Might want to check the alignment.

    Tires!

I know this sounds pedantic, but your '14 is Thunder Grey, not Titanium grey as you put on your Mirage's garage profile.

Older grey Mirage's are much darker. Some think the car looks black.

Krown is worthwhile, perhaps moreso when you apply from day 1.

Brake and radiator fluid change sounds a bit excessive? I thought I read on here its only really necessary to make sure they're not to low?

I've never changed the brake fluid or coolant on anything I've owned unless I had to open up the system for some reason. But I've never owned anything since new and usually don't keep vehicles for longer than 3-5 years.

Brake fluid should be changed every two years according to Mitsubishi. I say after three years latest. Why? It reacts with the humidity and becomes watery. Watery brake fluid has a lower boiling point and rusts the steel brake cylinders from inside! Fluid is easy to change and cheaper than any parts plus labour.

Radiator fluid (coolant): Read the entire thread about changing a heater core to understand. That's a very expensive and labour intensive repair! Changing the first filling of fluid and replacing it with the correct stuff prevents heater core failure due to "chemical reactions with assisting substances in manufacture" according to the world's largest coolant maker.

I suspect with colder weather on the way I'll just do the basics, oil, air filters, wipers, snow tires, block heater, for now.

The rest of it will be spring projects unless I manage to organize my car to get my car inside.
