HERE is the article on motortrend.com.

    8. 2024 Toyota Corolla | $23,145

I guess the Mirage hatchback doesn't count as a sedan. I assume it would have been #2 on the list above?

Weird, a friend of mine just sent me a screenshot from the same article about an hour ago.
Msrp for a base Sentra(cvt only) here is almost $23,000, Msrp for base Mirage(no G4 for us) is almost $17,000.
I didn't know we could still get a Rio and the base comes with a 6 speed. Msrp is $20,000 for that thing.

I don't see a Rio available in 2024, at least not in Ontario, but I thought the whole country gets the same models

Did I ever mention I paid $9299 (window sticker was $14,220) for my new 2017 Mirage ES manual?

Funny thing was it would have been as low as $7,799 brand new if I had qualified for all the rebates at the time.

Meanwhile, I was scratching my head over all the negative reviews from American car snobs like Doug DeMuro at the time.

No one was talking about the great deals on these cars back then! I stumbled across them. I'm still amazed at that to this day, & it's the only reason I bring it up sometimes. American consumers are stupid sometimes! I'm strictly speaking of non-Mirage/G4 owners!

I didn’t notice they had it listed as a 2023. It doesn’t show as unavailable so I assume you can still buy one? I remember 2015 Mirages with a late production date when they skipped the 2016 model year in n/a. Dodge's, sorry...Ram's website allows you to do a build and price on some 2022 Models like the previous body style 1/2 ton and promaster city.

A manual transmission Versa is fairly unusual. I have checked the stock of a local Nissan mega-dealer and they rarely have one on the lot. Their website always shows a few as "in-transit." I've also never seen one without an extra $400+ for stuff like splash guards and floor mats...

But at least it's got a stick and manual HVAC controls...

Back before I bought Bluey from Loren I was fairly convinced that I was going to buy a new Versa because I really liked the look of the last one with the Chrome V grille. But like you said, even then it was difficult to find a M/T example. The ones dealers have "in transit" are almost always sold before they hit the lot because contrary to the narrative, folks still want simple M/T cars as we here all know. But the one time I finally found one in stock, I got all excited, and went ready to buy, and the driving experience was so bad I turned around and went home. Absolute soulless feeling, abysmal dynamics, nothing that made you excited at all. I was really bummed out.
