2014 CVT failing at 87,000 miles .... UPDATE: false alarm

Hi.... I've had the CVT oil changed at 35k andxagain at 62k. Engine runs fine and when I went to back out of driveway this morning it seemed to struggle. Went to go forward and it hardly moved like it had no power but as it started to go.... it would shake the car and smooth out as I got up to 50 mph. Drove fine while up to speed. Once i stopped at stop sign.... had trouble getting going again ...and shook at 2-3 thousand rpms. And smoothed out again as it got up to speed?
My assumption is CVT trans.... anything i am missing?

Are you the original owner of the car? In other words, is the car still under the powertrain warranty?

How cold was it when you were driving it this morning?

Isn't the fluid change interval every 30k? Didn't he follow the service schedule, give or take a couple thousand miles? If the dealership did the fluid changes, maybe they would work with you a little on replacement (if that's what it is). A long shot, I know....

First thing, check the fluid. Is it black? Drop the oil pan, hopefully it doesn't look like thisAttachment 15787 If it does, you know what you're looking at. Input bearing failure. If not then it's still very likely but may not be as far along yet. Have you checked for trouble codes? They usually won't appear unless it's really screwed and past the point of repair.
