Yes crazy to pay taxes on them... It is the extreme road taxes in the Netherlands that kills the carlover. Really rediculous to have people pay so much taxes on hobby cars....
With the extreme petrol prices complementing the taxes, it is no fun to drive an old car these days (even as a hobby...)

Agrees, even when my hobby car (Mitsubishi Galant) is just 13 years old (not even close to old timer) I paid loads of road tax and insurance for it.
I love cars and I love driving them and maintaining them, it's just the tax that kept me from collecting them
