Thread: Flashing D. Dirk don't read this one.

And it's back.... Just got word the car has the flashing D again. But it seems to be driving fine still.

And it's snowing again and most main roads are littered with random retards who crashed.

I'm gonna replace the valve body on this car.The P0746 code popped back up. I could probably spend more time testing all the solenoids but I have a valve body from a working cvt on the bench. I'm gonna tear it apart first and clean it up good before swapping it as it came from the latest cvt I swapped. The one where the input bearing started to go and the dealer told me it need spark plugs.
I found a very lengthy teardown video, I skipped through lot of it but it was great to see how the valve body comes apart for reference later when I forget.

There are 7 parts. Go to part 4 around the 11min mark and that's when he finally gets to opening up the valve body. There are some more screen filters inside the valve body!

I'll post some pics of tearing the valve body apart later. Remind me if I forget.
There are 2 check balls in there. That video I posted made things go faster. Glad I tore this one apart, I found another piece of the input bearing inside the valve body and slivers of the bearing retainer ring in one of the solenoid bores. There are 5 tiny screen filters in the valve body a little bigger than a pencil eraser, maybe twice as tall?

I didn't watch the end, just skipped through to where the guy replaced the solenoids and put red cvt fluid in. Then I saw it drive so I quit watching. Watching with closed captioning really sucks so I probably missed a lot. Did I miss the part where the car quit moving cause that'd suck lol

Or is there a dipstick/tube you can buy for those turds?Attachment 16130 I can't seem to be able to post a pic of a pdf.. I need a grown up

Attachment 16135Attachment 16136Attachment 16137The yellow circles are where 3 screen filters are, the Blue is where 2 check balls are. There are 2 more screen filters on the plate between the 2 halves of the valve body.

    I have wondered the same.

Maybe his CVT therapy is working?
