    sudden loss of power

today i experienced a sudden loss of power twice. it felt like limp mode. first time i had 1 bar of fuel left and was whipping arojnd some curvy hills. i dont think it was enough to cause a loss of fuel. i stopped turned the engine off checked if the fluids were at decent levels and tighten the clutch cable a little. i restarted the engine and took it for a test and the problems not there. added some techron fuel system cleaner and filled the tank. cut to 3 or 4 hours later after several drives at highway speeds. im driving going around a left turn and it feels like im in limp mode again. pull over. the fluids are all there still, air filter is still there too.. restart and start driving again. now im keeping the traction control off to see if that makes any difference.

Sorry to hear about your car problems, benwerks! I would be taking my car to a mechanic if it's acting like that, and you don't know what the issue is.

you're in Denver so I'll ask, were the driving conditions wet and sloppy? what year Mirage do you have? Has it been in for the wiring corrosion under the driver foot rest?

Ugh, the dreaded intermittent problem. What year and how many miles? Any check engine lights on?

it was a little snowy last week but the roads have been dry for a few days now. i thought it was serviced for the wiring but ill have to check again. also i dont have many passengers so it stays dry on the passenger side. its a 2015 with around 80k. after turning the traction control off and another start/stop on the next start all the traction lights were on plus the abs light. stopped and borrowed a code readed. no codes. after all the lights came on the loas of power was gone but came back after some rough road and then all the tc lights and abs light went off. loss of power again after some more bumps. stop/start again. the traction lights and abs light are off now.

im thinking its the same problem bcressy1987 had with their abs light coming on and needing a new wheel bearing. my right front wheel gets the most abuse and i would believe the wheel bearing is the culprit.

Loss of power.. so no engine power and the car cuts out. I'm not sure. Might be a small fix in the end, but you can't live with the car like that.

My Mirage has a problem with a leak around the EVAP, the Evaporative Emission Control System.

A small leak somewhere near the fuel filler and/ or around the gas cap is leaking, causing a sensor to go off and my check engine light on. Still not solved.

but the bearing, as far as I know, has no sensor to produce a code. the abs for that wheel however can cause havoc if it's wires are corroded or iffy. Fummins can clarify what I said.

a lot of the wheel bearings on ebay say they do or dont have a magnetic ring for the abs, so i wouldnt know. if it is not needed they are about $23-30 but if it does need a magnetic abs ring theyre the same price as rockauto. during the day i can pull the tire off and check the abs sensor too but it wouldnt surprise me if its both the sensor and the bearing.
