I use my Mirage for business purposes and tow with it about 8 miles each way, every day. It's a small concession cart that only weighs about 200 pounds fully loaded, but it does fine. I keep it under 60, stay in the right lane, and really try to not stress the powertrain. It's hurts gas mileage by about 20%, almost exclusively because of the aero drag.

I've got a job this weekend, three hours drive each way, with 1400 hot dogs and buns in the car. Haven't figured out how I'm going to do that, yet.

Snaps, that's a heap O'Dogs. I do love a decent hot dog all loaded up with mustard and Jalapeņo's !

i use mine all the time. it does ok, i dont not over load and use a light trailer. it does good with a 5x8 mesh trailer. can cruise around 60 easy enough with low wind drag

My mirage has done excellent with all of my towing situations.

I drive for delivery and often get 11-13 luggage bags squeezed in my mirage, some weighing in at 50lbs plus my weight of 300, I'm easily right at the 850lb load capacity limit. When I'm at the limit I can feel the weight, it's sluggish up steep grades, normally a 10% grade takes 3rd gear. When I have close to 600lbs gross trailer weight the car handles and feels so much better.

I just installed air lift suspension which would increase the load limit. Also sagging would be stopped. I plan to get a motorcycle camper trailer.

Which Air Lift did you install? Was it this one? Amazon: AIR LIFT 60724 1000 Series Air Spring Kit

Indeed it was my good sir, the rear suspension is now stiffer and i no longer hear my mudflaps scrapping on the ground, they are working so far.

Quite well. This past April I purchased a Nissan Leaf as a second car, which I use for my wintertime money hustles. (Delivering pizza, driving Uber/Lyft). Since April, the Mirage only gets used for business purposes, and it has done perfectly fine. The combination of towing and use of the air conditioner really murders the gas mileage, but besides that gripe, the car is still great. I’m on my original tires, rotated regularly. Doing oil changes with Mobil 1 full synthetic about every 6,000 miles.

It is nice to keep the mess in one car, and have a “nice” car to keep clean and free of mess. Still, I love my little Mirage and plan on keeping her as a little three cylinder pickup truck for a long time.
