I'm thinking you're right on that. Even though I would like to do everything LED, it just does not seem practical to mess with the electrical here, there, and everywhere, in order to make it work (speaking specifically of the brake lights...)

Do you mean the parker lights? It's the one to the left in the picture, left of the headlight main globe.

Yes its the green and black wire that go to the plug on the light socket. Carefully twist the socket (can't remember which way) and it will come out exposing the bulb in the socket. With led's if it doesn't turn on, flip the bulb around and try again.

The side marker is a composite one piece light design, the bulb is not replaceable in the original side marker that comes with the Mirage unfortunately. I removed mine and found out the hard way its a sealed unit with the bulb inside that isn't replaceable, someone might find a way to heat the lamp assembly up and replace the bulb with something else but as far as a direct bulb replacement it is not possible on the oem side marker.

That's nice, is it hard to replace the side light cover? If it's hard I would just paint it over like 1 member here did.

Gently push it in and slide backwards.
Only held in with a little clip on the back. I'm sure if people knew how easy they came out, mine would be stolen as it is the same as the lancer over here, and people mod them, but they all have stock side markers, and I get asked a lot where I got mine.
