Wanted: A cheap stick shift Mirage (or maybe an automatic)

I missed out on a 2015 DE 5 speed for $2450 and that made me sad... so I figure I'd post up I'm looking for a stick shift cheap Mirage. I don't care about the miles. It just needs to function properly, not have a rebuilt title, and not be all smashed up or destroyed. Prefer a 14 or 15 since they have the automatic climate control. Hoping to find one for under $3000. I'm in Machesney Park, IL. Would love something somewhat close... can make arrangements to travel if need be. Would also happily fund someone driving their car here and getting a train or bus ticket home since my time where I can be gone is limited since I have to take my kid to and from school. If I can't find a stick, I'd take an automatic... just want something that I can not feel bad about beating up carrying parts, dogs, people, etc.

Maybe I'm crazy but I've seen a few Mirages I can get my hands on for under three grand... but the traveling part really throws things off for me. Thanks!

These awesome little cars really do lend themselves to a guy owning 2 or 3 of them. I've got 2, my partner has admitted her Mirage, the '17, is much better to drive than the '07 Vue we have. Her fear of being in a small car if there's an accident is gone as our little cars are so easy to maneuver.

Now I'm looking for a 3rd Mirage for my kid, With patience I'll find one.

Setup alerts on craigslist, cars.com, and any other sites you like to use for looking at cars. Thats how I do it.

Yeah, I might have to. The whole problem (for me) is that I don't have enough time in the day to really travel that far. There's a cheap Mirage in Minneapolis I wanted to buy and I just don't have enough time to go there and back. It sucks.

Ended up getting one. Not necessarily the cheapest thing on the planet but it's actually in good shape instead of clapped out and abused to hell and back.

Haha no not a car dealer. Just get bored fast with things. Plus, usually I buy broken down stuff, fix it and drive it for a while, then sell it and make a few bucks.

I’m jealous. I usually by stuff that needs more work than I initially thought, fix it, drive it, find more problems, fix them then sell for less than I originally paid. I’m glad I didn’t get a car with higher miles to save a buck like I originally wanted to. It’ll be nice to be able to just drive A car for a few years knowing that it should be relatively trouble free for a few years at a minimum.
    Congrats on getting another mirage!

I bought a Mirage so that I wouldn't have to be concerned about buying another vehicle for 10 years.
