Installing sticky window mount for a tablet

    I bought this from Amazon:

and I want to mount it on the windshield.Name: 71RXwrDs8SL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

It has one of those sticky pads that seem to work well initially but lose their stiction with time. The obvious is to have the mounting area super clean.

Any advice on making an area of the windshield super clean?
Should my windshield be warmed up prior to mounting this?
Should I wait an hour/day/week before I put any load on it?

I want to do this right. The prior one I did came off on the highway and I had to deal with a tablet bouncing around on it's power lead at 70 mph on a busy day.

You could wait and install on a nice spring day, with ideal temperatures provided by nature. For me, I think things go wrong moreso in the winter.

I use windex on the interior of my windshield. I only do this the odd time.
The outside half of my windshield has a bunch of minor scratches from my plastic ice scraper in the winter months. And rocks too I'm sure.

I would at least get a unit that has a foot. Tablets weight too much more than a phone for a simple Chinese suction cup. It will work for awhile but in time it will come off.

Yeah screw suction cups, too unreliable. I use a spring loaded clip that locks in to my CD player slot for my phone when Im ubering. Works awsome. Hell even a vent clip set up would last way longer.
